HISTOIRE D'UNE FEMME EXTRAORDINAIRE ET CHAMPENOISE DE SURCROIT....Theadvent calendar is here!
"Janine was my grandmother... As a child, I was "bathed" in needles, one of her working tools. She was a seamstress and, until the age of 12, I was dressed entirely in Janine's clothes. I tried sewing and even knitting to do what she did. Knitting didn't fascinate me and, it has to be said, I wasn't very good at it. Fabric was more my thing, and I regularly tried my hand at a few simple projects.
I didn't pursue the needle path professionally, and today it's the needles that have caught up with me. My business name came to me as a matter of course. Les aiguilles de Janine is first and foremost the desire to have my own business. I started making hand-sewn fabric bracelets as gifts for friends and family. Then the first orders came in. The materials used diversified: lace, pearls, leather, metal. Silver, fine pearls and leather make up my collections as the seasons go by.
Initially self-taught, I took jewelry training courses to improve the quality of my creations and deepen my manufacturing techniques. In addition to manufacturing and creativity, a small business also involves management, communication and marketing. It's a wonderful family adventure: my husband is in charge of communications and the website, and my daughters are in charge of viral marketing and photo posing.
First, my daughters, three Venetian blondes aged 22, 18 and 11. They give their opinions on the creations and inspire new ideas. They also act as models. My second source of inspiration is my husband's home region, Provence. It's a magnificent region: the colors, the green of the olive trees, the blue of the sky, the fabrics, the landscapes between fields of olive trees and small mountains, the markets filled with colors and scents, the Camargue, the bulls, the pink flamingos, the Arlesiennes."
