As a reminder, the story of the Pink Ribbon is based on a campaign running throughout the month of October, an opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and raise funds to support research(Grande Cuvée will not be raising funds).
Ladies, let's be rigorous and make an appointment for a mammogram every year, because in France, 1 in 8 women is at risk of developing breast cancer. With 60,000 new cases every year in France alone, that doesn't leave you much to think about, so go ahead !!!!! Detected early, 9 out of 10 women recover.
For the record, it was in 1992 that Alexandra Penney, editor-in-chief of Self magazine, imagined a pink ribbon to designate the fight against breast cancer. Estée Lauder distributed it in all its New York stores. Evelyn Lauder, vice-president of the cosmetics company, promises to put the ribbons on all Estée Lauder counters, as well as in cosmetics stores nationwide.
Why this pink and not another?
This pink pantone is the world's No. 1 ribbon factory (Offray) pink, a feminine, soft, cheerful color that evokes good health.
Wearing a pink ribbon is a way of showing your commitment to the fight against breast cancer and your solidarity with sufferers.
