Perrier-Jouët is a Champagne House founded in the early 18th century. In 1811the company owns 65 hectares of vines and five Grands Crus. Pierre Nicolas Perrier wife Rose Adélaïde Jouët to establish the Champagne House à Épernay. In 1815, Perrier-Jouët begins exporting wine in the UK and 1837 in the United States. Charles Perrier took over the company in 1854 and consolidated its success in England, becoming the preferred supplier to the English court and Queen Victoria. Over time, the legacy of Perrier-Jouët evolved according to the style that the family wanted for its wines. The emphasis on high-quality ingredients, including Chardonnaygives wines from Perrier-Jouët a unique style. In the first half of the 20th century, Perrier-Jouët acquired two legendary vineyards: Les Bourrons Leroy and Les Bourrons du Midiwhich are present in all assemblies and bring length and balance. La Champagne House Perrier-Jouët also boasts some of the finest plots in the Côte des Blancsparticularly in Grands Crus from Cramant andAvize.Located on south- and southeast-facing slopes at mid-altitude, the Perrier-Jouët vineyards are well placed to optimize the maturity of Chardonnaythe grape emblematic of the House. The result is generous aromas of white flowers in the champagne. The vineyards from pinot noir from Mailly-Champagne are fresher and more delicate, while the vineyards of pinot noir d'Aÿ-Champagnein the Marne ValleyThey bring elegance with notes of fresh fruit.
In 1959the Champagne G.H. Mumm acquires Perrier-Jouët. The Cuvée prestigiousBelle Epoque"is created in 1964 by winegrower André Baveret and launched in 1969 by sales director Pierre Ernst. It was one of the great successes of Prestigious vintages of the 20th century. This launch marks a decisive turning point for the brand Perrier-Jouëtwith the rediscovery of the bottle designed by Émile Gallé. Perrier-Jouët will always give priority to quality.
