Cuvée Ter Blanc Brut Grand Cru sans étui from Maison Philippe Gonet is a 100% Chardonnay champagne, born of a strong desire to showcase their terroirs. A blend of 3 terroirs from their best parcels, carefully selected for each cuvée. The bottle was designed after an 18th-century blown bottle found in the company's cellars. The neck is slender and delicate, the shoulders generously curved. Pierre Gonet has chosen to vinify his wines in oak foudres under wood to bring complexity and depth to his wines. With no malolactic fermentation, this cuvée is an exception in their house. Their vines have never been sprayed with insecticides or pesticides, out of respect for the terroir and ecological responsibility. This cuvée is the culmination of the Philippe Gonet house style. This pure Chardonnay is a selection of 3 parcels, with one third coming from the "Les Hautes Mottes" terroir in Mesnil-sur-Oger, the second third from the "Vozémieux" terroir in Oger (these 2 terroirs in the Côte des Blancs are classified as Grand Cru and the vines have never received insecticides or pesticides) and the final third from the "Les Corrigniers" terroir in Ludes, a Premier Cru in the Montagne de Reims. An exceptional wine.
To the eye, abundant bubbles leave a fine lace that remains on the surface.
An elegant, fine, gourmetnose that opens with notes of hazelnut, subtle vanilla and fresh citrus fruits (grapefruit, lime).
A supple attack on thepalate quickly gives way to the liveliness characteristic of Chardonnay. The finish, with springtime white flowers and a saline, chalky note with a grainy feel, recalls the purity of the original terroirs.
Cuvée Ter Blanc Brut Grand Cru sans étui from Maison Philippe Gonet is a great, precise wine. The tension is present and persists in the saline finish.
