Cuvée MA 1760 Extra Rosé Grand Cru Appellation AOC from Maison Valentin Leflaive is a champagne blend made from 49% chardonnay from Le Mesnil sur Oger(Côte des Blancs) and 51% pinot noir from Verzenay(Montagne de Reims), 11% of which is transformed into red wine. The vines planted are on average 20 years old and face south-east. The soils are flint and chalk for the chardonnay and clay-limestone for the pinot noir. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, the pressing is fractioned, and only the first pressings are kept. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, and the wine is aged for 36 months on laths.
A salmon-pink color with very fine bubbles.
On the nose, notes of citrus and red fruit.
On the palate, finesse and softness are the order of the day, with good length.
Cuvée MA 1760 Extra Rosé Grand Cru Appellation AOC without case from Maison Valentin Leflaive goes very well with firm-fleshed fish.
