Mr. Bertrand Agutte Mesnilois of birth(Le Mesnil sur Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs), returns 7 years ago in Champagne after several years spent with horses, yes it is a great passion for riding.
He lived in his grandparents' champagne house, took over the farm with a small plot of vines of about 17 ares (harvest delivered to the UPR cooperative in the village) and helped with the various wine-growing activities of his family.
Bertrand has a taste for wine, so he likes to work in the vineyard and he is happy because he is regularly outside when the weather permits.
He works his land in reasoned viticulture, he opted for a natural grassing, does not use chemical weedkillers and he innovated, yes our man is original even "marginal"! He has planted lavender, thyme and laurel at the foot of his vines! Return of some fauna reappears, he is happy, but what will be the most on the grapes? This question is unanswered for the moment, because it is necessary to wait several years to know the benefits or not of this action.
If he is not in the vineyard, he still has something to do, he likes to take care of the trees, the park of the house, everything that is vegetal has become his new passion.
Bertrand has more than one string to his bow, he also works at the UPR where he learns a lot about the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. Normally, he works 5 months a year at the UPR, which keeps him busy, but this man has set himself a new challenge.
In the absence of the wine growers of the Champagne region who work the land during the day, it will allow tourists to taste the champagnes and even sell them. What a godsend for all !!!
Winegrower for 6 generations, he has made his family house typically champenoise a place of exchanges and discoveries. The customers benefit from a unique service in the heart of the village, in the middle of the land and the vines.
