The Maison Ch. & A. Prieurfounded in 1825 à Virtues (Côte des Blancs) by Jean-Louis Prieurwas a trade in champagne. To promote their production, they used the image of Napoleon successfully, leading to the registration of the champagne "Napoléon in 1907 par Alfred-Marie, petit-fils du fondateur. Les Napoleon champagnes are still popular today, managed by Vincent Prieurfifth generation. The House of champagne buys its grapes mostly from Côte des Blancs and the Reims Mountain with winegrowers premises. Visit champagnes are a balanced blend of chardonnay and the pinot noir. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats rather than oak barrels, which gives their champagnes a pronounced minerality.The Champagne Napoleon differs from the appellation Champagne requiring a minimum of 36 months for maturation. winesand even more for vintages. The champagne is long and delicate, from the vine to the press, from the cuverie to the cellars, through to disgorging and resting before sale.
