The House of Champagne Vilmart, héritage familial depuis 1890, a été fondée par Désiré Vilmart à Rilly-la-Montagne. Sur cinq générations, Charles, Renan, et René Champs ont préservé et développé cet héritage. Depuis 1995, Laurent, fils de René, travaille les 11 hectares de Premier Cru à Rilly-la-Montagne, privilégiant le Chardonnay (60% du vignoble) dans une région dominée par le Pinot Noir et le Pinot Meunier.

The vines, en moyenne âgées de 35 ans et certaines de 70 ans, sont réservées exclusivement à La Cœur de Cuvée et au Blanc de Blancs. Laurent, attaché à une viticulture respectueuse de l'environnement, a certifié la Maison HVE and VDC, favorisant la biodiversité. À la harvesteach grape est sélectionné et cueilli, puis traité dans le pressoir traditionnel. La vinification se fait en barriques ou cuves, sous-bois, préservant la fraîcheur et les arômes.Pas de fermentation malolactique, Laurent préserve la tension des wines. Le vieillissement, pendant 5 à 8 ans, résulte en des champagnes de qualité. Laurent, grâce à ses voyages, a étendu la renommée des wines à l'international, notamment en Asie. Morgane, sa fille, apporte une touche artistique au design des bottles, assurant une continuité créative. Le fils de Laurent suit maintenant les traces familiales.
