Charles Heidsieck, ambassadeur emblématique du champagne français, a conquis l'Amérique en 1852 en charmant la société new-yorkaise et la bourgeoisie d'affaires. Sa renommée s'est étendue à l'Europe grâce aux Expositions Universelles, et il a acquis les Crayères, des caves datant du IIIème siècle avant JC, en 1867. En 2011, la famille Descours prend le relais, et en 2013, Stephen Leroux devient directeur. La cuvée spéciale "Champagne Charlie" a été créée pour honorer le fondateur. Les Crayères, des galeries souterraines inscrites au Patrimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO en 2015, abritent des millions de champagne bottles en évolution.
