Veuve Clicquot' s Rich Rosé sans étui is a champagne champagne blend with 45% pinot noir, giving the champagne its structure, 40% pinot meunier, giving the blend its roundness, and 15% chardonnay, giving it all its freshness, with 15% pinot noir, vinified as a red wine, rounding out the blend. The unique character of Veuve Clicquot Rich champagne is due to its dosage of 60g of sugar per liter, sublimating the aromas of the blend. As Veuve Clicquot's cellar master explains, "Sugar in champagne plays the same role as spices in a recipe. If dosed correctly, it is capable of revealing specific aromas and interacting with certain flavors". The first champagnes (along with Rich) were designed to be enjoyed with ice and fresh ingredients. Historically, Rich was the name given to wines blended to create sweet champagnes. Recently found Veuve Clicquot bottles dating from 1840 even contained almost 150 grams of sugar per liter. Historically in Russia, consumers added sugar to their champagne, adding a personal touch to their wine.
Veuve Clicquot Champagne's case-free Rich Rosé has been designed to be paired with a selection of ingredients, creating a whole new tasting experience. Highlighting an exceptional balance between freshness and silkiness. The oenological team carefully selected the ingredients that would allow the wine to reveal its aromas, such as pineapple, tea, lime or ginger, all "on the rocks", on ice.
