Since 2008, the Ruinart Champagne House has reduced its carbon footprint by 25%.
Today, the Ruinart Champagne House strives to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible by taking action across all its activities.
To achieve this, the Ruinart champagne house is increasing its use of renewable energies. From the vineyard right through to bottling, it is reducing its energy consumption. Yes, there are electric tractors, but from storage to wine maturation, only the air-conditioning at Les Crayères is sufficient (apart from lighting, of course).
Ruinart Champagne 's main sources of carbon emissions are packaging, so since 2012 the House has been applying eco-design principles to lighten its environmental footprint. Thanks to local sourcing and a return to basics, in 2020 the second-skin case was introduced.
Following a gradual reduction initiated 7 years ago, no commercial deliveries are now made by air, and 84.5% are by sea.
