CHAMPAGNE PHILIPPONNAT
The Philipponnat are a family of Swiss origin who have settled in Aÿ-Champagne in 1522 and dedicated themselves to the development of Champagne wines under the Second Empire. The SA company Champagne Philipponnat was founded in 1912 after the acquisition of cellars and properties to Mareuil sur Aÿ.

In 1935the House Philipponnat bought the Clos des Goissesa 5.5-hectare vineyard on south-facing slopes with a view of the Marne Valley. The vineyard has been reconstituted into a single plot and enlarged in 2007. It produces one of vintages the best-known Philipponnat House. Charles Philipponnat has been running the company since 2000.Philipponnat was the first Maison de champagne to specify on its back labels the dominant "base" year entering the composition of its non-vintage champagnes the dosage and the disgorgement datecommunicating the identity of each product to its prescribers and consumers. cuvée.
The know-how of Philipponnat is reflected in their principle of Solera undergrowth, which consists in preserving wines in oak barrels and to integrate them into the assemblies nonvintage in varying proportions.
