Interview with Charles Philipponnat of the Philipponnat champagne house :
"The flowering period has just ended in Champagneunder ideal conditions, with no humidity, optimal temperatures and perfect light. We therefore plan to start the harvest around September 10, slightly later than the average for the last ten years.
Although we're keeping a close eye on weather conditions and their impact on the vineyard, we recently experienced some thundery showers which, fortunately, were neither heavy nor violent. At this stage, everything looks very good, but we remain cautious, as the threat of mildew and powdery mildew persist until mid-July.
The formation of bunches bunches, combined with flowering (berry formation), augurs well for a yield in line with our expectations. This will enable us to respond fully to the growing demand for our sales, which continue to progress, particularly for our Cuvées millésimées and top-of-the-range Philipponnat wines.
Of course, it's still too early to judge quality, but the current state of vegetation and the prospect of harvest dates that are neither too early nor too late are extremely encouraging. This challenges the adage that "farmers and winegrowers are always complaining!!!".
Interview with Antoine, Sales Manager :
"When I joined the Maison de Champagne Philipponnat, it was necessary to completely rebuild our retail network. In Paris in particular, we noticed a change in the landscape, with the emergence of bistronomy. These places were more interested in wine, terroir and winemaking, rather than focusing solely on the best-known Champagne brands.
Philipponnat represents a harmonious marriage between the two worlds: a Champagne House with a complete range of wines, but also a family dimension. Charles Philipponnat was already emphasizing our know-how and the quality of our products. This emphasis on quality, sincerity and transparency, which meets the expectations of the new wave of bistronomic restaurants, has helped us to develop our network.
Today, we are reaping the rewards of the fundamental work undertaken by Charles Philipponnat over twenty years ago in terms of the quality and precision of our wines.
The Friends of the Champagne House are loyal fans of Philipponnat, particularly of the Clos des Goisses and its terroir. They are like the guardians of a precious secret, knowing the House and appreciating our wines. They have been ready to join us in sharing the philosophy of the Philipponnat Champagne House.
Our family spirit and our constant quest for excellence are our greatest assets in the relationship we maintain with these professionals, who share our passion for product quality and the durability of their partnerships.
Philipponnat 's customers are looking for an experience that brings taste and terroir to the fore. terroirThey are looking for quality and character. Being present in the most prestigious establishments requires years of networking. It's all a question of time, developing sincere relationships, demonstrating seriousness and integrity, but above all, patience. It's a real long-distance race...
Our champagnes go perfectly with gastronomy. We regularly organize small group lunches with chefs and sommeliers to demonstrate that Philipponnat Champagnes are the perfect accompaniment to any dish, offering a surprising gastronomic experience.
Philipponnat is a name that has resonated in Champagne for over 5 centuries. Our Champagne House benefits from an exceptional terroir, and our champagne wines have a real personality, being both intense and powerful. Philipponnat has many assets to seduce champagne lovers, including younger ones, who are looking for authentic products with a "human" dimension.
I firmly believe that these values of perfection, quality and proximity are extremely precious, and that they represent a real opportunity for the Philipponnat Champagne House!
